Tootsie's Antiques is located at 538 Second Street in the heart of the Portsmouth, Ohio historic district known as the Bonefiddle area. The building has housed businesses for more than a hundred years, retaining its original wood floors that come complete with patched holes covered with license plates and tin can tops. The holes were drilled into the floor to drain water following the 1937 flood. The shop's former existence as a grocery store is evident in the hand made shelves and primitive counter. It is just one block away from the flood wall murals.

Some of the items offered by Tootsie's include antique, primitive, and mid century furniture, glass, china, old signs, toys, architectural salvage, jewelry, and paper collectibles. We specialize in harvest tables and country cupboards made from reclaimed wood. The two board harvest table in the photo below was made from one 16" wide board rescued from a hundred year old local home that was razed. The board was a fifteen foot long floorboard that we cut in half.

Tootsie's shop is home to Cutie Pie, a rescued gray cat, and is managed by Tootsie, her daughter Linda, and Tootsie's college student grandson David. Tootsie likes to say that they do "recycling at its best".

Store hours are 10:30 A.M. To 5:00 P.M. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment by calling 740-935-6243.
